Got an email from old Manager today and HR had called her to find out about me and that the HR person will be contacting me soon for a phone interview & my old manager thinks i’ll be in with a good chance.
I’ll be based in the City store but will be driving around to other stores to help with their merchandising as well so my only boss with be the Head VM who can be a bit of a bitch sometimes but so was my Business manager there and she loved me, haha.
That also means i’ll have to buy a car which I wasn’t planning on doing, sigh but anyways i’ll be on good money so i will be able to afford it. Luckily my mummy works in the car industry and can get cheap cars (am hoping she will lend me the money too since i don’t know if i’ll be able to get a loan).

Gah so much hassle though, on the STA website they didn’t have an international phone number only a 13 number (which you can’t call from overseas) so i had to try and change my ticket via email and the girl i had been dealing with must not be there any more so i was dealing with this other guy.
I have no idea what his problem was but he kept on giving me available dates that didn’t work for me even after I would speficaly tell him the date I wanted. In the end I found all the fights I wanted and said they were available on the sta website and these are the ones I want. He then tells me they are only for people buying tickets from scratch and I have use the dates available to my ticket class (WTF? i paid way more for my ticket then they are now so that shouldn’t be an issue).
After 4 useless emails I gave up and discovered an internation phone number on the email signature so I called and managed to get the exact flight and date that I wanted despite being told it wasn’t available, oh and it cost me $10 less than he said it would.
Knew i didn’t trust him.
So anyway, am now leaving LA on the 3rd of September arriving on the 5th in Sydney.
Must double check my flights as i’ve become notorious for fucking up my dates and arrival times.

Tonight I was supposed to go out and see D’s band play tonight and we were getting ready when M started yelling at D and then declared she had a PMS headache and we weren’t going out.
The worst part was apart from getting dressed (had fab outfit organised in my head) I was completely ready complete with hair that had taken all day to do (my hair is a complicated beast that needs to be washed, product smushed into it, left to air dryed completely which in itself takes a good 8 hours, an afternoon nap to mess it up and then a going over with either a straightner to make more waves or a curling iron). So you can see my annoyance.
Even as she made the announcement she looked at me and said ‘great hair by the way’
thanks.

So it’s 99% certain that I am coming home in September and i’m not all that upset about it to be honest. I mean I could stick it out since I’ll have my money then anyway but to do what? and then have to come home 4 months later anyway and be even more in debt and have no money. Least this way i can use my money to pay off all my debts and have some money behind me in Sydney. Have also decided not to get another car for a couple of years, or if i do it’ll be a crappy one but I don’t really need one in Sydney, it’s just one more expense and i’d rather use that money to travel or put towards starting my own business.

Emailed my old Area Manager in Australia as there is a Visual Merchandising job going in Sydney for the clothing company I used to work for and I definately think I want to pursue a career in VM whilst I work on my own clothing designs. Least this way there will be no conflict of interests like there would be if i worked as an Assistant Designer.
She is going to speak to the Head VM and find out what they are looking for in the role and see if I have enough experience (she seems to think so). Anyway the head VM is on holidays til the end of August so least i know the job isn’t getting filled anytime soon.

Went out last night to see my room mates new band play, wasn’t a huge night, am too poor to spend $6 for a glass of beer so only had a couple of drinks.
The band was pretty good, brit rock type stuff with a female lead singer. Afterwards we were talking to the British guitarist and the first thing he said was ‘You have awesome hair’ which means he is clearly gay, as it’s only ever gay guys that get the hair.
Am going to see them play at Cinespace next week which should be fun and hopefully will party more than this weekend.
Not long now till True Blood and Drop Dead Diva, its so sad that I live for Sunday night tv.

I wrote a couple of weeks ago how my new favorite alcohol was Hendrick’s Gin, well it’s now been superseded by St-Germain Elderflower Liquer. Mmmm good and so versatile, I have taken to either drinking it with Champagne (or in my cheap ass case, Prosecco) or just with sparkling mineral water and ice on a hot summer afternoon.
Plus it comes in such a pretty bottle, though i’d best get my fill of it while in the USA cause it’s $70 a bottle in Australia, cue sad face.
